Celia is a beautiful young girl on the brink of her sophomore year in high school. She watches her weekly soap opera Teen Angel and dreams about cute boys. One day, when Celia goes to visit her best friend Cassie, she meets Nicky, and exciting older boy with a tattoo of a snake on his arm. Finally, it seems that all the things that she?s been dreaming of are coming true with this boy who could pass for one of the stars on her favorite show.

When Nicky discards her and Celia discovers she?s pregnant, problems spiral around her. How will she face her parents and finish school? What happens when her fellow students at Roosevelt High find out? With the help of her older sister Juanita, Celia tries to deal with the results of her infatuation with an older boy.

5 out of 5 stars I LOVED THIS BOOK FROM BEGINING TO END   January 31, 2006
*** RENEE'S REVIEW ON TEEN ANGEL***

SO WHAT I THINK ABOUT TEEN ANGEL IS THAT I THOUGHT IT WAS AMAZING, OK IT HAD SOME WIERD STUFF IN IT. BUT ANYWAY, IT STARTS OUT WITH 15 YEAR OLD CELIA CHAVEZ, WHO GOES OUT TO FIND HER BEST FRIEND, CASSIE MEYERS. WHEN SHE GETS THERE, SHE'S SURPRISED TO FIND AN UNFAMILAR STRANGER ON HER PORCH, THAT STRANGER HAPPENS TO BE CASSIE'S COUSIN, NICKY, HE FLEW IN FROM CHICAGO, TO VISIT.
ANYWAY. SHE MEETS NICKY AND THEY HOOK UP AND GO OUT ON THIER FIRST AND THEY MAKE OUT. ( THEY DID NOT HAVE SEX, THEY MADE OUT, 2 DIFFERENT THINGS.) AND SHE CHICKENED OUT. AND SHE WATCHES HER DAILY TV SOAP OPERA CALLED TEEN ANGEL. BUT ANYWAY, ON THE SECOND DATE, NICKY SOMEHOW PERSUADED CELIA TO HAVE SEX WITH HIM BY SAYING ALL THIS STUFF THAT WASNT TRUE, LIKE FOR INSTANTS: " I LOVE U BABY,AND I WANNA SHOW U HOW MUCH I LOVE U" BUT ANYWAY WHEN SHE CAME BACK TO HER FRIENDS HOUSE SHE GOES TO THE BATHROOM AND FINDS SPOTS OF BLOOD IN HER UNDERWEAR. SHE STARTS TO CRY AND WONDERS IF HER PERIOD HAD CAME OR WAS IT WHAT HAPPENED AT THE BEACH WITH NICKY. TURNS OUT CELIA WAS RIGHT. THE NEXT MORNING AFTER BREAKFAST, SHE RUNS TO THE BATHROOM AND THROWS UP EVERYTHING SHE JUST ATE. AND SHE LOOKS IN HER MIRROR, WONDERING WHAT JUST HAPPEN, THEN SHE IS STRUKEN WITH FEAR AFTER SHE REMEMBERS WHAT HER PHYS ED TEACHER HAD TOLD HER AND HOW IT ONLY TAKES ONE TIME. SHE WAS RIGHT! THE NEXT MORNING IT HAPPENED AGAIN, ONLY THIS TIME HER SISTER FINDS HER LEANING OVER THE TIOLET PUKING HER GUTS OUT. THEN SHE STARTS TO CRY AND SHE WAS INSTSANTLY GLAD THAT SHE JUANITA AS HER SISTER. THEN SHE MEETS MRS. DR SANDRA MARTINEZ, A PYSCOLOGICAL THYRAPISTS WHO HELPS OUT FAMILYS LIKE CELIA'S AND OTHERS WITH PROMBLEMS THIER HAVING.BUT ANYWAY SHE TOO IS PREGANANT,AND SHE SO DESPERATLY WANTS TO HAVE A BABY, AND SHE THINKS BACK TO WHEN HER FIRST PREGANANCY WHEN SHE MISCARRIED, AND IT LEFT HER DEEP UGLY SCARS FROM BEFORE ONLY UNTIL SHE FINDS A MYSTERIOUS PAIN IN HER STOMACH, SO FRANK, ( HER HUSBAND) RUSHES HER TO ER,AND SHE SOON FINDS SHE HAS MISCARRIED AGAIN. AND THEN AFTER WARD, SHE HOPES TO HAVE A BABY IN THE NEXT 6 MONTHS. THEN CELIA'S DAD FINDS OUT THAT SHE IS PREGANANT AND KICKS HER OUT OF HER HOUSE, TO WHERE SHE GOES TO OLDER BROTHERS APARTMENT FOR HELP. THEN SHE'S IN SCHOOL AND THEIR ARE RUMORS GOING AROUND ABOUT HER AND NICKY AND THEY SAYING THAT HE GOT HER "KNOCKED UP" AND SHE'S FORCED TO LEAVE ROOSEVELT. AND DOESNT WANT TO GO BACK. SO THEN MRS MARTINEZ PERSUADS HER DAD TO LET HER RETURN HOME. AND HE DID. AND THEN IN THE END SHE GOES TO A SPECIAL SCHOOL WITH OTHER GIRLS JUST LIKE HER AGE AND WHO ARE PREGANANT SHE BEGINS TO LIKE IT. AND SOON AFTER MRS MARTINEZ IS BLESSED WITH A BABY GIRL.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME

SINCERLY,

TONISHA MACK, 15, NEW JERSEY

1 out of 5 stars I WAS OFFENDED!   October 18, 2003

This book really made me mad! Celia was obviously a tramp in the book. She slept with Nicky on their second date and they had known each other for ONE WEEK! Unrealistic! Then he abandoned her and still Celia and her friends act as if it was Nicky's fault and Celia had nothing to do with it! FYI: CELIA WAS THERE TOO! I empatheize with her but she should accept her part of the responsibility for her child. THE VERY WORST PART WAS THAT SHE DIDN'T HAVE THE BABY! The book didn't end, it just left you hanging. And the character of Mrs. Martinez was annoying! The miscarriage happened too fast and I couldn't really get a grip on Mrs. Martinez's grief. I am sorry for anyone that ever had a miscarriage but this was unrealistic all the way through!
